Actor & Educator
Originally from Norfolk, Virginia, I found my love of live performance by making my parents laugh with my cartoonish impressions. To me, life was and should remain, always, as whimsical as a Looney Tunes episode.
We moved around a lot, and eventually landed in the Deep South of Mobile, AL, where molasses, biscuits, and the summer air are all equally sticky. At fourteen, I picked up a guitar, and that same year graced the stage in my first musical. From then, theatre, story-telling, and music were my obsessions. I graduated from Murphy High School and earned a BFA in Theatre from the University of Montevallo. After college I worked the summer-stock circuits along with the regional theatre in Birmingham, AL, including Birmingham Children's Theatre where my passion for teaching elements of the stage to young children was born.
At twenty-nine, thinking I had one shot left to fulfill a dream, I packed a suitcase and my guitar and bought a one-way ticket to New York City. I left behind family, friends, and the life I had built so far in Birmingham, AL. Little did I know, this was just the beginning. After many adventures in the Big Apple, I met the love of my life, performed independent Shakespeare across the city, and surrounded myself with friends (old and new) who make me a better artist and person every day.
I live in Astoria, Queens, with my fiancé. In our spare time, we take long walks through the park, pet other people's dogs, and shop for dusty old books.
